We’re excited to announce that Savings Scopes – our comprehensive “RI only and All Discounts” savings view, is now available across a broad range of AWS Non-Compute services, including RDS, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, MemoryDB and Redshift.
Earlier this year, we introduced Savings Scopes to give AWS Compute customers a more complete view of their ESR. This feature lets users view savings under two distinct scopes: the original RI/SP Only scope, which focuses solely on Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, and the new All Discounts scope, which captures all rate optimization savings.
With this launch, we are expanding Savings Scopes to AWS Non-Compute services. Customers can use the All Discounts view to get the full picture of their savings outcome that includes: RIs, EDP, and Private Pricing Agreements. Just like on AWS Compute, the new Savings Scopes toggle in the Console lets customers switch between RI Only and All Discounts views, helping answer key questions like:
- What did we actually save last month across all discounts?
- How much of our RDS usage was discounted, and how?
- What’s our blended discount rate when we layer EDP/PPA on top of discount instruments?
